Liz Shutt - Director of Policy for the University of Lincoln and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership

Liz Shutt is Director of Policy for the University of Lincoln and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership. She is based in London and works to improve the connection between strategy development and government policy. She is supporting the development of a Local Industrial Strategy for Greater Lincolnshire, looking across sectors to address issues affecting low productivity and regional disparities. She is also leading the 21st Century Lab project, based at the University, which is compiling a range of perspectives from outside of the HE sector and the UK on the key challenges of the 21st Century and what this means for universities.

Liz was previously Head of Policy at University Alliance, helping to establish and grow the organisation over a period of 6 years and working on a range of projects and publications including on social mobility, student stories, funding, the regional economy and the future of work. She has also worked at Universities UK, Sheffield Hallam University and the Department for Work and Pensions. In addition, Liz has recently been a steering group member for the UPP Civic University Commission and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
